UW Horticulture Center Wedding
When couples search for unconventional or unique ideas, this UW Horticulture Center Wedding offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and versatile spaces. This celebration showcased how a garden party wedding can transform into something truly extraordinary.
Garden Party
Delia & Noel knew very early on that the garden party was the theme, and they wanted it to show in their wedding album. UW Horticulture Center is a great place to give you exactly that type of vibe from your wedding day! The entirety of walking through the center, you see so much green. The ceremony space is perfectly tucked away behind a wall of vegetation. Adding to the green vibes these two wanted. With the large tree behind them while they do their “I do”s. In our call they said they were having a ‘cavalcade’ of flower girls and they were not kidding at all. All the kids walked and tossed pedals before Delia went and it was special to capture.
Family Matters
I love when couples think outside the traditional wedding timeline, and their choice to have me photograph their rehearsal dinner instead of engagement photos spoke volumes about their priorities. There was such an ease and intimacy to those moments โ family stories being shared over wine, siblings giving impromptu toasts, grandparents watching it all with knowing smiles. It’s becoming more common to see couples reshape these pre-wedding traditions into something that feels true to them, and this evening captured their family’s spirit perfectly. Though rehearsal dinners aren’t new, we are seeing more couples want that captured in addition. I am all for it, we dont often gather together to celebrate. These two’s families were nothing less than thrilled and were so kind to me.
Seeing Everyone
In all my years of photographing weddings, I’d never witnessed or captured a full receiving line. After the ceremony, Delia & Noel carved out time to properly greet every single guest who came to celebrate them. What struck me most was how each interaction felt genuine and unhurried. A warm embrace here, a tearful laugh there, inside jokes and heartfelt thank-yous. It was like watching a beautiful thread being woven through their entire community, connecting each person to this momentous day in a meaningful way. It was long, but it didn’t feel out of place or like an obligation to them and I could tell. They had the same amount of happiness for each and every guest. The amount of love in the air was magical to say the least.
This was more than just a wedding โ it was a thoughtful celebration that honored relationships above all else. From the garden setting to the family-focused festivities to those precious moments greeting their guests, every element reflected who they are as a couple and what they value most.
